Mark Dobay is a technology geek by day, and a potter by night. Born and raised in Massachusetts, he made a switch from the automotive field to the tech industry where he has been for more than 20 years. He dreams of making art his next full-time career, but until then he plans on continuing to make art for the sheer enjoyment of it. 

For Mark, pottery is a physical expression and interpretation of interactions he has with the world every day, and his way of connecting his mind and body to the earth. He enjoys the idea of shaping tiny pieces of earth and water into a solid form.

Sometimes inspiration comes right from the form as it starts to take shape on the wheel; other times, Mark is inspired by everyday objects, and reproduces them on the wheel. Mark has always used his hands to break, fix and build. Clay allows him to do these things and share his vision of the world.
