Sherry Anderson
weaving
Sherry discovered and fell in love with the art of weaving when she moved to the Boston area in 1983. She learned how to weave at a yarn shop in Arlington, MA. She creates rayon chenille scarves, breadbasket cloths, and table runners. She feels that the greatest reward from weaving is experiencing the wonderful reaction from people who see, touch and treasure the finished piece.
In addition to weaving, Sherry loves paper and uses decoupage techniques to decorate tin buckets, frames and other functional items. She also makes beaded bracelets and earrings.
While creating artwork through the years, she had a career in public relations, marketing and fundraising in arts, healthcare and non-profit organizations. She lived for 30 years in Holliston while raising her two sons. She was an active volunteer for the Holliston schools. Now living in Wayland, she is a huge Red Sox and Boston sports fan. She is a member of the Weavers Guild of Boston. Sherry loves being an owner and artist at Five Crows!
