Suzanne Stumpf

Suzanne Stumpf has received international recognition for her sculptural and functional ceramic creations, including being named a Niche Award Finalist three times. In 2019, she was named Artist of the Year by the Cambridge Art Association and was selected as a fellow for the Haystack 2019 Artist Residency. Her work has been included in scores of national and international juried art and ceramics shows from across the US to Bucharest, Hungary, winning numerous prizes. Her work has also been featured in multiple books, magazines, art calendars, and other publications, included in the iBook, American iPottery.
Suzanne’s functional work is inspired by nature and is nearly always made from porcelain using a combination of wheelthrown and handbuilding techniques.
Also a professional musician, Suzanne is Co-Artistic Director and flutist for the period instrument chamber ensemble Musicians of the Old Post Road, winner of the Noah Greenberg Award from the American Musicological Society. She has recorded for Meridian, Telarc, and Titanic. She has been named Senior Music Performance Faculty Emerita at Wellesley College where she taught flute and chamber music for more than three decades.
