Jewelry
Cynthia Franzek has been making jewelry since 2008. While helping her mother with after-effects of cancer treatment, she discovered a booklet with examples of wire crochet jewelry. "I had been crocheting with yarn from an early age, and found changing mediums, from fiber to wire, was not difficult," she says.
After experimenting with design, different types of wire and sizes of beads, she discovered a technique that led to making an elegant design. She settled on fine non-tarnish silver wire with Swarovski pearls and crystal, and Argentium wire with fresh-water pearls. The lacey open appearance comes from how the crochet stitch is placed within the piece.
